RSX Sports is a small but growing, Scotland based but globally operating sports agency on a mission to #ChangeTheGame by shaking it from its 20th century processes and embracing it’s 21st century reality: that it’s a product which blends competition with entertainment, fashion, gaming, technology, music, hospitality and more. We think of ourselves as the sports agency for tomorrow, today.

We create winning collaborations and proper partnerships between elite rightsholders, global brands and innovators. Yes, sponsorship is a big part of what we do, but we're involved in exciting projects away from that; fan engagement, metaverse, stadium technology and matchday/event experiences and more. We've worked with, and are working with, football clubs in the Premier League, the Championship, SPFL Premiership, Serie A, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Primeira Liga and more, as well as all the major golf tours. We also work with a number of brands and sports product, tech and service providers.

Relationships, transparency and integrity are fundamental to what we do, alongside activity, creativity and the ability, and willingness, to ask for the business! We do all of this with a bit of swagger, sometimes with a renegade attitude, even a bit of chutzpah! We aren’t suits, we don’t accept the status quo and we’re ballsy. We work hard and we work smart, but we want it to be fun, for us and for our clients. There are two things by which we measure every bit of business we do:

Right now, we are busier than ever, with hundreds of millions of pounds worth of deals at contract stage, hundreds of millions more of assets and opportunities for sale across football, golf, rugby, gaming, fan media, podcasting and more and we need talented, proactive, hardworking, ambitious and greedy people with demonstrable evidence of relevant success and a real passion for commercial sport to help us sell these, and increase our bandwidth so we can take on the opportunities we are having to turn away.


The Role

You will be responsible for identifying and engaging global brands for the sale of high value sponsorship assets from our elite rightsholder clients and will be involved in the ongoing negotiation and contracting, dependent on client specifications, alongside our Director(s) and the rightsholder. You will also be responsible for engaging rightsholders to promote our wide range of services. You will also be responsible for growing our new Stadium Tech/Fan Experience Tech division, Xperience, promoting and selling the portfolio of solutions we have available via our 'alliance' of outstanding solutions providers to sporting organisations across all stadium sports and often to their contracted service providers, such as catering companies.

Key Responsibilities
 
  • Primary focus on sales delivery by displaying a thorough understanding of RSX Sport’s products and services, and working to a coordinated sales plan to achieve divisional budget targets and strategic objectives
  • Develop strong relationships with prospective new clients via all possible customer touchpoints including phone, email, LinkedIn, networking events and meetings etc.
  • Prepare sales propositions, generate business cases and plan sales approach
  • Leading sales pitches with both international and domestic clients to understand objectives, build relationships and secure revenue for the business
  • A small amount of travel, including internationally, may be required
  • Continually developing relevant sales prospect lists by using macro and micro market trends, sound product knowledge and deep understanding of brand marketing to strategically identify relevant clients, industries and geographies
  • Briefing RSX Sports Sales Insight and Servicing team to prepare sales presentations using consumer insights, media value reporting, and additional proprietary methodologies to help build compelling business cases
  • Provide regular updates at team sales meetings showcasing activity and pipeline development, business closed and share any insight for potential collaboration with other Sales Team members
  • Liaise with key sports Rights Holders where required to secure property, product or price information, as well as ensuring RSX Sports’ interests are represented and protected appropriately
  • To be competent with sales management systems (CRM) and follow any other relevant internal reporting procedures
  • Liaise with RSX Sports’ international territories and subsidiary agencies to understand rights portfolio, availability, pricing, and other relevant data to support sales process
  • Support the Sales Directors, Leadership Team and other agents from time to time on various projects
  • Work with internal corporate functions such as legal and finance to create robust commercial agreements to support a sales process
  • Ensure strong after-sales relationship management where necessary to enhance renewal probability, and identify cross-sales/upselling potential
  • Represent RSX Sports to the broader market in a way that is consistent with the high standards and professional approach expected of agents

About You
 
  • Tenacious sport sponsorship salesperson with a proven track record of consistent success in high value sales/business development. Hungry, proactive and persuasive.
  • A proven track record of success in Sports Sponsorship Sales, or in the Professional Sports environment is essential.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, advanced communication and presenting capabilities
  • High level of confidence at communicating with senior decision makers and pitching across multiple channels (phone; video conference; in-person)
  • Strong existing network within global brands and, ideally, sport is essential.
  • Effective at managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Analytical and strategic with understanding of brand objectives and how the righstholder and asset complements the brand and can help it achieve its business objectives. No hit and hope!
  • Highly independent, performance-driven, and comfortable with working in a dynamic global environment to tight deadlines
  • Highly proactive
  • Confident working without constant supervision and checking up. We don't like the old school mentality of clocking in and clocking off, with someone breathing down your neck. We trust that you have the hunger and desire to do what you need to do.

Earnings & Benefits

OTE £100K+


This is a self-employed, commission only opportunity with outstanding earnings potential. We work on a commission only, paid on completion basis with our clients, and we are very generous in terms of how Agents are rewarded. As an Agent you will be paid 50% of the commission paid to RSX Sports for completed sales of Sponsorship Assets/Leads provided to you by RSX Sports. You will receive 60% of the commission paid to RSX Sports on completely self-generated business (where you bring the rightsholder and brand to the table). The assets we sell are high value, at 6, 7 or 8 figure levels so there is a very real chance to earn a significant income. What you earn is down to you; the more productive you are the more you stand to earn.

You should be aware that deals of these sizes can take some time to reach contract signing stage, sometimes several months, so it's vital that you either have the security to allow you to navigate the timelines of high figure sponsorship agreements. It is just as vital if you have another source of income that it is flexible enough to allow you time to work on RSX Sports business. For clarity, this does not need to be a 9-5 job. Effective Agents who work smart can succeed without the need for a 40 hour week, even alongside other non-competing work. Outstanding Agents can succeed on a handful of efficient, effective hours per week. The more time you can dedicate the better chance of success you have, however. Prospecting can take place at any time of day but most client meetings will be during traditional business hours, subject to timezone. We want you to be hugely successful and give you the opportunity to earn genuinely life changing money. If this incentive is not enough for you, if you are looking for a 9-5 without stretching yourself, if you aren't ambitious, if you would rather earn a £30K base salary with 5%-10% commission on deals and hope a pension is enough to see you through retirement, if you are not prepared to shoot for the moon and change your life while working in a fun, dynamic, largely autonomous role in an industry most would call their 'dream' please DO NOT APPLY.

In addition, you will enjoy a dynamic yet relaxed and informal working environment where you can earn as little or as much as you want to and, within reason, you can work the hours that suit you. In sport. Not digging ditches, and not complex rocket science. Dress code is relatively relaxed. Most of your meetings will be on Zoom/Teams, with some remote and in stadium/brand office so smart casual will suffice, taking into account the gravitas of our clients.
